As Salaam Aleikum
My Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person.’ [Tirmidhi]
SubhanAllah, this is an amazing example of Allah’s mercy and generosity. Giving iftar not only means another person can share in Ramadan’s blessings – it also doubles the reward of your own fast.
During this blessed month Allah has again granted Runnymede Muslim Society the honour of giving iftar to Royal Holloway University students, and we saw an unprecedented number attend our iftars. These were sponsored by businesses & families who wished to partake in the rewards.

This Ramadhan has gone to quickly. It’s raising the bar for our own centre. May Allah reward all RMS/ISOC for making this a successful and peaceful Ramadhan. May the past present and future students remember each other with fondness. May the Runnymede Muslim Community come together and establish a Beacon Centre Ameen

This Ramadan have been such a beautiful experience, as international student the RMS have been the family I was missing during this Ramadan and made it unforgettable. May Allah bless all the ones who made it possible and accept our fast and deeds . Looking forward for the next Ramadan in our own community Masjid InShAllah
RMS has made my first Ramadan so special and memorable. I am extremely grateful for the wonderful warmth and compassion that was shown to all the students. May Allah reward RMS tenfold, increase their ranks in Jannah, ameen!
RMS have made this Ramadan one to remember and have fostered an atmosphere where friendships and memories were made that will last a lifetime. Ramadan is a time for reflection and helping one another and RMS have shown me the true impact of a community led Ramadan that not only values the rememberance of Allah but also values true connection amongst muslims of all walks of life. Thank you to the donors and the organisers for putting so much time and energy into making the muslim community in Egham so special. You have impacted so many young people for the better and I’m sure there will be many more to come.
Jazakallah and May Allah reward everyone that helped out and made the events possible during this Ramadan. Ameen.
This Ramadan was a beautiful experience with RMS, as students we will miss these days and remember them very fondly as a time where we all got closer by breaking our fasts and praying together everyday as well as a time where we strengthened our community as a whole. Alhamdulillah.
I want to share a heartwarming encounter I had recently. My friends and I were on the way to Jurgens for iftar, we were taking our usual bus route but had never seen this bus driver before. He noticed that my friends and I were carrying food and asked us about it. His curiosity led to a beautiful exchange as he expressed his happiness about the Muslim community in Egham. He was fasting himself and praised us a lot for taking food to iftar.
Later, upon our return back home, the bus driver surprised us by mentioning he had been looking for us. Although we had missed the bus, we hadn’t forgotten his kindness. When we offered him the extra box of iftar we brought for him, he was overwhelmed.
He then said he had something for me and my friends too and reached into his pocket and offered us money. At first, we hesitated, thinking it was for us. However, he later made it clear that he wanted us to use the money to take food for the mosque next time.
May Allah reward him and accept his duas.
This gesture left a heartfelt impact on me. It’s proof of the generosity and spirit of unity that Ramadan brings. Even in the midst of our busy lives, these moments of kindness remind us of the importance of compassion and the importance of community.
Thank you to the Runnymede Muslim Society for providing free iftar meals every day and allowing us to share the blessings of Ramadan with others, even those we meet unexpectedly.
Alhamdulilah! This Ramadan has been one that will stay with me for the rest of my life and it’s all thanks to RMS. There is so much Barakah in eating, laughing and praying together and there was never a dull moment. I can only thank RMS and their hard work! May Allah reward RMS for their efforts and raise their ranks ameen.
